Overnight Shooting and Stand-off at a Danvers Motel, WI Man Arrested

A Wisconsin man will be arraigned today in Salem District Court on several charges in connection with an overnight shooting at the Knights Inn. 225 Newbury St., according to police.

Jonathan R. Alequin of 2552 17th Street South, la Crosse, Wisc., was taken into custody by police overnight. The shootings took place around 11 wednesday night. An area SWAT team was dispatched to the motel.

Police said two people suffered gunshot wounds to their legs, and were taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital. Police have not identified the victims.

Danvers Police, state police and the North eastern Law Enforcmement Council SWAT team responded. Danvers Detective Sgt. Phillip Tansey, Danvers detectives and state police are investigating the incident.
