Peer Mediators Teen Regional Forum Coming To Danvers
More than 120 middle and high school teen mediators will meet to gain insight and tips on how to help classmates resolve conflicts.
DANVERS, MA — More than 120 middle and high school students are set to meet in Danvers next month as part of the 19th annual Peer Mediators Forum designed to help teens resolve conflicts involving their friends, classmates and peers.
Schools expected to be represented at the forum include Peabody, Essex North Shore, Andover, Amesbury, Greater Lawrence Tech, Cambridge, Lowell and Braintree.
The event is set for April 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Danversport.

The Resolution Center is hosting the event designed to help attendees listen to each other's stories, identify key wants and needs, and generate options to end the dispute.
Keynote speaker Dr. Kenann McKenzie-DeFranza, a member of the Beverly School Committee, will lead students through a workshop on Listening In Community so they can empathize with participants who seek support for conflict resolution.

The Resolution Center, formerly the North Shore Community Mediation Center, is an independent non-profit incorporated in 1994. Its mission is to use effective communication to solve conflicts in a way that transcends culture, gender, race and age.
