Police Investigating Car Theft, Vehicle Break-ins Overnight in Putnamville

Three vehicles were entered and a fourth one was stolen on Locust Street, Riding Club Road and Huron Avenue sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Danvers police are investigating a rash of car break-ins and a car theft that occurred overnight in the Putnamville neighborhood.

Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Bettencourt said three separate cars were entered on Locust Street, Riding Club Road and Huron Avenue and a fourth car was actually stolen on Locust Street, about 10 homes down from the other incident.

He said a report was still being written and he didn't have any further information on the stolen car as of late Monday morning.

The four victims discovered the damage and thefts early Monday morning, calling police around 6:30 a.m.

A wallet, iPhone and computer were stolen from the three vehicles, which each had a smashed window, Bettencourt said.

He said the incidents, which detectives do believe are linked, are still under investigation at this time.
