Police Log: Salem Man Charged With Assaulting a Police Officer

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 3

At 3:10 p.m., a Eden Glen Avenue resident reported a burglary.

At 3:40 p.m., police received a call from Centre Street about a car break-in.

At 4:56 p.m., police arrested David Daigle, 36, 100 Willow St., Lynn, and charged him with aggravated assault and battery and violating an abuse prevention order. Police responded to Motel 6 about a report of a man choking a person. Police arrested Daigle.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

At 2:37 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at South Liberty and Water streets. One person suffered a head injury.

At 5:26 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Federal Street. There were no injuries.

At 7:46 p.m., police responded to Endicott Street after a two-car accident. There were no injuries.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 5

At 2:39 p.m., police responded to Lane Parkway after a car struck a fence. There were no injuries.

At 6:19 p.m., a North Street resident reported a possibly sick raccoon. Police notified animal control.

 

Thursday, Feb. 6

At 12:06 a.m., police arrested Nicholas Cowley, 35, 56 Margin St., Salem, and charged him with assault and battery on a police officer, disorder conduct and resisting arrest. Police responded to Motel 6 about threats made against a person. While they were there, Cowley reportedly assaulted a police officer. Police made the arrest.

At 11:47 a.m., a Riverside Avenue resident reported a scam phone call.
