Report: No Return Date Set for Fire Chief

It remains unknown when, or whether, Kevin Farrell will return to the Danvers Fire Department as chief.

Danvers Fire Chief Kevin Farrell, after , does not have a date set to return to the job after the charges were dropped, the Salem News reports.

Town Manager Wayne Marquis told the Salem News that he would soon be given “a detailed update on the situation.”

The domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness charges against Farrell were dismissed during a court hearing on Aug. 31 when Farrell’s estranged wife, Joanne, declined to testify during a bench trial in Haverhill District Court.

Marquis told the paper last week that Farrell is out on sick leave and whether he returns to his job depends on his condition.
