Report of an Assault With a Fire Extinguisher

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Sept. 7-8.
Saturday, Sept. 7
- 1:45 a.m. Report of an assault at a High Street residence. Police said someone was hit with a fire extinguisher.
- 10:07 a.m. Andrea Luciani, 32, of 76 Margin St., Salem, was arrested on a warrant at Days Inn.
- 5:27 p.m. Charles Poitras, 58, of 7 Berry St., Danvers, was arrested at his home and charged with domestic assault and battery. Police said someone dialed 911 from the home and hung up.
- 6:43 p.m. Michael Daley, 44, of 37 Longwood Ave., Saugus, was arrested on a warrant after an officer was flagged down by an MBTA bus driver at the Liberty Tree Mall.
- 7:58 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 1 near the Endicott Green apartments. See related story.
- 8:54 p.m. Report of a larceny at Motel 6. A tablet computer was stolen.
- 9:46 p.m. Report of a larceny at Walmart.
Sunday, Sept. 8
- 12:06 a.m. A 37-year-old Danvers man was placed into protective custody, following a report of a possible intoxicated person downtown on Maple Street.
- 12:45 p.m. A Whipple Street resident reported a scam or swindle.
- 1:29 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Walmart. Police issued a court summons.
