Shoplifting, Smoldering Mulch and a Dead Raccoon

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from May 31 - June 2.

Friday, May 31

  • 9:52 p.m. Report of suspicious activity at the Residence Inn on Route 1. A caller suspected prostitution or drug activity, but police said the complaint was unfounded.
  • 10:52 p.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle on Elliott Street. A caller said the window was shot out. No further details were available.

Saturday, June 1

  • 8:01 a.m. Rogelio Matias, 36, of 119 Beacon Hill, Lynn, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Maple Street. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for not having a valid inspection sticker.
  • 10:04 a.m. Power outages were reported on High Street.
  • 4 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injuries on Elliott Street.
  • 5:43 p.m. Lora Milagros, 37, of 95 Hanover St., Lynn, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Claire's Boutique at the mall. She was charged with one count of shoplifting.
  • 7:36 p.m. Report of a larceny at an address on Route 114. A caller said a plow was stolen.
  • 11:59 p.m. Report of a larceny at Sun Convenience inside the mall. No further details were available.

Sunday, June 2

  • 4:47 a.m. Report of a dead raccoon at the corner of Maple and Summer streets.
  • 8:24 a.m. Jeffrey Lewis, 55, of 82 Bowditch Avenue Ext., Peabody, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Maple Street at Route 1. He was charged with driving with a suspended license.
  • 2:44 p.m. Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a home on Reservoir Drive and said they arrested one individual, but no details were available at the time.
  • 2:58 p.m. Report of a larceny.
  • 4:01 p.m. The Fire Department responded to a report of mulch smoldering outside the Liberty Tree Mall.
