Snow Squall Takes Toll On Danvers Flagpole
The town flagpole at Maple Street and Conant Street will be removed and assessed after taking a hit in Sunday night's burst of snow.
DANVERS, MA — A fast-moving burst of heavy snow and strong winds took a toll on the Danvers town flagpole Sunday night.
The Danvers Department of Public Works said Monday morning that the flagpole at the corner of Maple Street and Conant Street was damaged in the squall.
The DPW said the pole will need to be taken down, assessed and then repaired or replaced, if necessary.

Pole rehabilitation efforts affected parking and intersection access in the area on Monday
"Parking is currently not permitted in the CVS front parking lot and abutting on-street parking," Danvers DPW said. "During the time of the removal of the pole, street access may be temporarily closed.
