'Ted 2' Shooting to Start This Week on North Shore

Filming is expected to begin this week for “Ted 2” at Appleton Farms in Hamilton.

The filming will last about 10 days and will include star Mark Wahlberg, according to Peter Pinciaro, deputy director of the Northeast region for Trustees of the Reservations, which owns the 1,000 acre farm that sits in Hamilton and Ipswich.

The shooting will happen on a portion of the farm known as the “Great Pasture,” which is to the west of the railroad tracks that split the property, on the Hamilton side. Signs have gone up directing the cast up Highland Street to the set.

Location scouts are drawn to Trustees properties, include Appleton Farms, because many of them offer “insular” settings. That’s no different for the the Appleton Farms set, which has been under construction for the past month. Carpenters, painters and other are expected to finish up the preparation work by Wednesday, he said.

Further details about the exact scenes that will be shot at Appleton Farms was not available from the film’s location scout on Monday.
