Timing Is Right For Angeli Hair Studio

Owner Tanya Falco opened this trendy new addition to downtown Danvers, and is happy to be back home.

Timing is everything.

Angeli Hair Studio, located at 35 Elm Street in Danvers next to Parrelli Optical, is a trendy new addition to downtown, and an exciting milestone for owner Tanya (Pedro) Falco.

Falco, a seasoned expert in hair design, having worked in the industry for nearly two decades, has aspired to own her own hair studio for years. But with the demands of raising children, 16-year-old Daria, 14-year-old Frank and ten-year-old Kaylyn, 10, and her husband Mark Falco’s busy schedule as a Peabody Police Officer, the timing just wasn’t right to take the plunge.

But in 2011, the Falcos began to feel their circumstances changing, and decided to take that next step. “My husband Mark and I felt the children were at an age of more independence," she explained. "So I just decided that I can finally do what I always wanted to do, open my own salon and do things my way.”

What is Falco’s way?

“I want my clients to feel special, to know that our staff cares about them and makes them a priority. We are always educating ourselves so we stay on the cutting edge of the trends so we can provide the best service-and our clients do know that, many have been with us for years,” she said. She is quick to credit her staff with their professionalism and expertise, adding, “I have the best people around me, all are private contractors, and many of whom I’ve worked with for ten years. They wanted someplace they could be at for good; it’s a complete family atmosphere.”

Soon enough, it will be a real family affair. The Falco's eldest daughter, Daria, has decided to join the family business and will get her hair dressing license through Peabody High School. “It’s so perfect. She’ll graduate with her licence and start working right away, which is exciting. This year we are heading to the New York Hair Show, and of course she’s coming with us-this will be her first one,” said Falco.

Formerly a Danvers resident and Danvers High School alum, Falco has lived in Peabody for the past eighteen years, but is beyond thrilled with her salon’s location-right downtown in her old hometown. She graduated from the Essex Agricultural School, and maintains that her early years at the John Fagone Hair Salon in Marblehead were the most influential. She has continued her education throughout her career, while also attending shows around the country.

“In this industry, you have to keep up with classes, and we always have reps coming in. It’s constant education because the industry is always changing,” she explained. “To maintain, you have to be up with all the new trends.”

Angeli Hair Studio was named as a reference for Falco’s three children, whom Tanya has lovingly referred to as her “angels.” Angeli is the Italian word for angel. Falco described that she knew instantly when she saw pictures of the new building on Elm Street that she had found the perfect location for her salon, and the fact that she would be in downtown Danvers was the icing on the proverbial cake.

“We built it in five weeks. It started out as a cement floor, we moved fast. But it was so fun and it was definitely worth it. Parking is never a problem, and our neighbors at Perelli Optical are great,” she said. "And I can’t say enough about the Knights of Columbus neighbors behind us, they’ve been so good to us. I love being back in downtown Danvers, it's such a great community."
