Topsfield Fair Great Pumpkin A Ton Of Fun; What's Up For Tuesday?

DANVERS, MA — An entry that tipped the scales at more than a full ton took the top prize at the Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Contest.

Alex Noel of Abington, Connecticut had the winning gourd for the second time in three years with this year's champion checking in at 2,092 pounds. Noel also won the contest in 2019.

While Monday was a little rainy on the fairgrounds, the weather is expected to get better as the week goes along.

Here is what to expect on Tuesday if you are headed over for some fun.

  • Military Day – active military personnel and their families are admitted FREE
  • Meet the 2021 American Honey Queen, Jennifer Hinkel, in the Bee Building.
  • Visit the Sheep Barn to see shearing and spinning demonstrations. Times vary daily.
  • Check out the Oxen Pulling Contest in the Arena

The Topsfield Fair is open through next Monday with altered hours for its 2021 return following a one-year hiatus because of the coronavirus health crisis.
