Winter Festival 2015: Auditions For Budding Actors and Actresses

Join the young company at Stoneham Theatre, MetroNorth's award-winning professional theatre.

This winter, the young company at Stoneham Theatre presents a four-show festival of musicals. This is an audition-based program for students in grades 1-12 that culminates in performances on our stage. All skills levels are welcome to audition, and we offer free audition workshops to help prepare seasoned actors and newbies alike! Tuition is $395. Financial aid and payment plans are available.

Auditions

Auditions will be held November 2, 3 and 4, 2014 by appointment only. To register, please email education@stonehamtheatre.org or call 781-279-7885 x104; please provide the actor’s name, grade, phone number, town, and a preferred audition time.

Free audition workshops will be offered Tuesday, October 28, 2014 and Wednesday, October 29, 2014 between 3:30pm and 8:30 pm.

Are you a teacher? Planning your field trips for this school year? Well, look no further than Stoneham Theatre. Stoneham Theatre has student matinees for all grade levels. And during our Winter Festival, your class has the added opportunity to see some of their favorite stories performed by kids - just like them!

Piggy Nation
overture + act 1 (grades 1–6)

In this delightful new musical based on the beloved book, Sammy Hamhock follows his Dad on Piggy Patrol, handing out tickets for rude behavior. But even Sammy and his Dad act a little piggy once in a while.

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka
act 1 + act 2 (grades 4–9)

When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it’s the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he’s always dreamed of. Amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.

act 2 (grades 7–9)

Filled with inventive language and overflowing with songs, Just So brings to life Rudyard Kipling’s popular fables such as “how the leopard got his spots” and “how the camel got his hump.”

Carrie: The Musical
act 3 (grades 10–12)

A high school girl is bullied at school and tormented at home, but she silently holds a secret power which can turn the tables in her favor, in this edgy adaptation of the Stephen King novel.
