Woman Charged With Stabbing Person's Shoe During Heated Argument
An argument at a Route 1 hotel led to a knife in one woman's shoe and an arrest and assault charge for the other woman.

Police arrested a woman staying at a Route 1 hotel on Saturday after she allegedly stabbed another woman’s shoe with a knife during an argument.
Irene Berberena, 28, of 102 Newbury St., Danvers, was taken into custody and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after police responded to a report of a fight at the Extended Stay Hotel around 4 p.m. on April 6.
Sgt. Robert Bettencourt said there was an argument between two females at the hotel, during which one of them threatened the other with a knife and allegedly stabbed her shoe with it.

He said Berberena did not have a knife on her when officers arrived, but they did find a serrated knife, which they believe she wielded in the incident.
Bettencourt said the victim appeared to be another resident at the hotel.
