Woman Struck, Injured Crossing Mall Road
A Peabody woman was taken to Beverly hospital after the Thursday night crash on Commonwealth Avenue.

A woman that police said was dressed in all back from head-to-toe was struck by a vehicle and injured on the road around Liberty Tree Mall on Thursday night, according to Danvers police.
It happened at 6:24 when the woman was trying to cross from Dick's Sporting Goods to Liberty Tree Mall.
The victim, a 45-year-old woman from Peabody, was taken by Lyons ambulance to Beverly Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Robert Bettencourt, Danvers police spokesman. She was crossing the road by herself.

"The driver stated they never saw her," Bettencourt said. The driver has not been charged or ticketed in connection to the crash.
The victim had black clothes on and was also carrying a black bag. There is not a crosswalk in the area where the crash occurred.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was not injured.
