DANVERS, MA — Zoots Dry Cleaners will reopen for one day at all locations Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. so that people can pick up clothing left with the company with the expectation that it would be cleaned before the dry cleaners shuttered abruptly recently.
The Brockton-based chain filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy Jan. 19. One Beverly employee told Patch that there was a managers call the next day, and when the manager got off the phone that's when the employees got the news and were told to stop work and go home. Last week a bankruptcy court gave the company permission to reopen temporarily, Patch reported.
It's been about 10 days since the company filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors leaving customers hanging. Many took to social media pleading with the company about returning their clothing. Some slipped notes under the door or posted messages to the outside shop windows in the hopes that the company would return their garments.

The company took to Facebook Sunday and announced it would reopen stores Friday, Feb. 2.
"You will be charged for your garments if they have been cleaned. In the event that you do not pick up your garments on Friday, they will be transported to a central storage location, and made available at a later date," reads the post.

It's unclear if workers will be paid for the day the stores are reopened.
"Zoots has closed its doors and is no longer open for business," the company said in the email to customers and posted to Facebook on the afternoon of Jan. 20.
