DEDHAM, MA — A 12-year-old boy had to be rescued Wednesday afternoon after police said he climbed the roof of CVS Pharmacy and fell through.
Dedham Police Chief Michael D’entremont told the Boston Globe the boy climbed atop the store plaza on Bussey Street and fell through a hole in CVS's roof. The boy fell into a 10-by-10-foot space which was sealed off from the rest of the building. Fortunately, the boy had a cellphone on him and was able to call for help. Police told WCVB the rescue required several firefighters, police officers and the jaws of life.
Despite falling 10 to 15 feet onto a concrete floor, the boy escaped with only minor injuries. Police told the Boston Globe no charges have been filed and a school resource officer will meet with the boy.
