Amid Heat, Dedham Opens Cooling Center

Residents who need a place to cool down can go to the Council on Aging

Dedham, MA—High temperatures have come to Dedham and they're expected to stick around for a few days.

Due to the heat, the Dedham Council on Aging is now open as a cooling center, according to the Dedham Police Department. They are located at 735 Washington St. and are open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Due to the heat, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook. Excessive heat is possible Friday as temperatures hit the 90-95 degree range along with high humidity.

  • Wednesday: A high of 89, with a low of 68.
  • Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high of 86 and low of 70. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
  • Friday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90 and low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 87 and low near 66.
