At about 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, police received multiple 911 calls reporting a possible car jacking in the plaza's parking area. Police found a 20-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds and a 19-year-old suffering from non-life threatening abrasions.
The victims told police that they were supposed to meet a person who contacted them thought a mobile classifieds app. They had arraigned to conduct a sale in the parking lot of a restaurant on River Street, but the suspect and victims traveled in the victims' car to the East Dedham Plaza, police said. It was in the parking lot that the sale turned into a robbery and one of the victims was stabbed in the chest. The suspect fled in the victim's car, which was recovered in Hyde Park.
