Dedham Community House Summer Camp: A Summer Kids Look Forward To Dedham Community House Summer Camp sits in the heart of Dedham and has served local families for more than 100 years. We offer a full-day program for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. Each day is active, varied, and fun. Campers stay engaged from start to finish: Daily swim in our outdoor pool Archery Arts and crafts Makerspace projects Science activities Rec room games and indoor play Group games and special events Our staff show up prepared and engaged. They know each camper by name. They create a space where kids feel included, supported, and ready to participate. Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program We offer a free CIT program for students entering 8th and 9th grade. CITs gain real experience working with younger campers: Assist with daily activities Help lead games Act as role models They build skills that matter: Communication Responsibility Teamwork Problem-solving Each CIT receives guidance from experienced staff. The focus stays on growth, leadership, and hands-on learning. DEDHAM, MA — A fire caused by a candle resulted in a response from the Dedham Fire Department Monday night. At about 9:24 p.m., Dedham fire responded to a report of a fire in a bedroom of a Sanderson Avenue home. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire caused by a candlelight on the first floor. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by 9:27 p.m. One person was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, Dedham fire said.
