Chick-Fil-A Break-In, Car Fire: Dedham Police Log

March 26

3:45 p.m. - A car fire was reported on Washington Street. The fire was likely caused by an electrical malfunction.

8:43 a.m. - A vehicle that suffered malicious damage was reported.

4:41 a.m. - A break-in at Chick-Fil-A on Route 1 was reported. At the scene, police found a smashed door and a partially eaten salad inside. Police reviewed surveillance footage and determined that the person was the same person who walked by the scene earlier and asked for directions to Dedham Line Liquors. The suspect was arrested and charged with breaking and entering during the nighttime to commit a felony. Boston Police told Dedham Police that the nearby Burger King, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Town Line Liquors in West Roxbury were broken into as well. Those incidents remain under investigation.

5:00 p.m. - A counterfeit bill was used at Brickhouse Cafe on Bridge Street.


March 30

4:48 p.m. - Malicious damage was reported to a property on Bryant Street.


April 1

1:21 p.m. - Follow a crash on Route 1, a driver was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle with a revoke license as a habitual offender.
