Chronicle Calls Dedham Square A Happening Hood

WCVB's news magazine show had much to say about the town's spot for restaurants and shopping.

DEDHAM, MA — Located right off of Route 1, it can be easy to miss Dedham Square. But once you find it, you may be wondering why it took you so long to discover it.

With a classic charm that has shades of "Back to the Future," the Dedham neighborhood was featured on WCVB's Chronicle as a happening hood. Nearly six years since the $6.6 million Dedham Square Improvement Project, the town's downtown area has seen quite a change.

"What happened is exactly what we hoped would happen, is that a lot of private developers became interested in Dedham Square," Amy Haelsen, the executive director of Dedham Square Circle said. "I think Dedham Square continues to be an undiscovered gem. A lot of people continue to tell me they drive by Route 1 and they don't realize Dedham Square is here."
