Dedham Adds Pair of Administrators to Schools Staff

A new director of special education and an assistant high school principal were recently hired.

The Dedham School system recently announced a pair of new hirings ahead of the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.

A new director of special education and assistant principal was decided upon after a lengthy and competitive candidate search.

Elizabeth Huber-O’Connell, a former special educator in the Acton and Acton-Boxborough school systems, was selected out of a pool of eight finalists to take over as Dedham’s director of special education. Huber-O’Connell holds 30 years of experience serving nearly 6,000 students.

Kristy Yankee, a former senior program director at Franklin High School, was hired as the new assistant principal at Dedham High School. She was selected from a pool of 60 applicants.

Members of the school committee, parent representatives, special educators, principals, and administrators worked together to make the selections for the positions.
