Dedham Civic Pride Wraps Up Another Successful Year

From flower pots to traffic islands to pocket parks, Dedham Civic Pride kept Dedham looking good

The wreaths are hung on the “Welcome to Dedham Signs”, the holly and birch sticks are in the planters along Eastern Ave. With those final tasks, Dedham Civic Pride has completed their 22nd year upholding their mission of keeping Dedham looking its best.

Both signature programs of Dedham Civic Pride, “Blooms” and “Sponsor-A-Spot” have expanded to include new businesses and organizations in the fold. Joining “Blooms” this season, were Hellas Plumbing, F.W. Webb, Smile Design Dental Team, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Courtyard Florist, Parkway Driving School and Star Nails. Hellas Plumbing and F.W. Webb’s flower pots were in Oakdale Square; while the others were situated in Dedham Center. The pot sponsored by State Rep. Paul McMurtry was at the Senior Center at Traditions.

The “Sponsor-A-Spot” program had three new sponsors this year. Joining the other businesses and organizations that help to underwrite the care and maintenance of the traffic rotaries, island dividers and pocket parks were Studio Barr, Perkins Law, Conforto Law Group, Dedham Community Theatre and Dedham Ophthalmic Consultants & Surgeons.

“We are so grateful to have the new businesses join our programs” said Amy Black, Co-Chair of Dedham Civic Pride. “We are also extremely grateful for the businesses who have been with us for a number of years supporting our efforts to keep the town looking good. And, of course, we are certainly thankful for all the people of Dedham who support us by taking out or renewing their Civic Pride membership each year. 80% of the operating budget for Civic Pride is raised through our membership drives, Spring Gala and the Fall Beer and Wine Tasting fundraiser events”

Dedham Civic Pride would like to thank the following businesses and organizations who participated in the “Blooms” and “Sponsor-A-Spot” Programs.
