DEDHAM GIRLS SOFTBALL WRAPS UP THE 2014 SPRING WITH FOOD, FUN AND AWARDS!
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and desserts are as true a sign that summer is here. All of those delicacies were available on Wednesday June 11 at DGSL’s great perennial sponsor American Legion Post 18’s function hall as Dedham Girls Softball said “Good Bye” to their Spring 2014 Season . Whole Foods and Metropolitan Meat helped provide the great food, while Secretary John Coyle along with his right hand computer/photo whiz/super Mom and wife Brigid Coyle helped provide the entertainment and music that helped the players look back and enjoy what they had accomplished this year after they had enjoyed the great feast. First off on the docket the needed and appreciated THANKS to all of our amazing sponsors who without their support we would not be able to accomplish all we do both in the spring and year round was rightfully acknowledged. Next up was the recognition of each team and their award winners. Led by Coach Coyle and DGSL Director/Coach/Dad Frank Bolotte, each 8U player was congratulated and presented with an award for their great effort and participation. The 10 and 14U teams were then brought up and each tea had an “MIP” (Most Improved Player) and “Team Spirit” crowned:

Last on the awards part of the program was a special recognition of our “Seniors”, our Grade 8/9 players who will be moving on to their various high school programs after many years (some up to 8 or 9 years!!) of great play and participation in DGSL. This year’s “Seniors” are: Cassidy Aiello, Maeve Bolotte, Maggie Doldt, Corinne Downey, Ashley Gilarde, Julia Holton, Danielle McMurtry, Emma Pelkey, Alexandria Ruidaz-Chaisson, and Alyssa Wisniewski. Thanks for all the memories, enjoy the gift card from Tedeschi’s and, most importantly, Good Luck!!
Before saying good night and good bye generous gift cards were raffled off from Ron’s Gourmet Ice Cream and the girls were shown an amazing video retrospect put together by the Coyles that brought back to the forefront the laughs and tears, the wins and losses, the friends that were made and strengthened, and most importantly, the great time that Softball is and DGSL and its sponsors provide for the young female softball players (and their families) of Dedham!!!
