DEDHAM, MA — The dropout rate at Dedham High School took a dip in 2016, according to data from the state's Department of Education.
Last year, 0.4 percent of Dedham High School's 718 students left before completing their education. The number is down from last year's 1.1 percent and continues a downward trend that has seen the number go down since a high of 2.6 percent in 2011, according to data going back to 2009.

Across the grades, 1.1 percent of freshmen dropped out, as did 0.6 percent of sophomores. The juniors and seniors came in at 0.0 percent.
Statewide, 5,523 students chose to drop out of high school, or about 1.9 percent of Massachusetts students.
