Dedham Launches Coronavirus Website

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham launched a new website that will provide community members with the latest public health and emergency management information on the fluid coronavirus crisis.

The new website, dedhamcovid19.com, will serve as a one-stop resource for residents, visitors, and business owners to receive all town updates as the COVID-19 situation develops. Visitors can subscribe via email to receive notifications for new posts.

The website is also tied to Dedham’s town government social media accounts, so it will automatically post all content from the blog onto the town’s Twitter and Facebook accounts at once, without delay.

The new site features a modern, blog-style layout, mobile device compatibility, and a user-friendly design that contains:

• A news blog
• A page with the number of positive cases in town
• Links to the Town of Dedham’s social media sites
• Important information relating to COVID-19 from the Dedham Food Pantry, Dedham Public Schools, Dedham Youth Commission and quarantine guidelines.
• Email subscription service
• Contact information for the town

“This website will serve as a landing page for all of the latest COVID-19 news and updates in Dedham, and we encourage all residents to sign up to receive email notifications for newly-posted content,” Town Manager Goodwin said. “This crisis is still unfolding and new information is being released regularly, and it is important for residents to stay as up-to-date as possible.”

COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus, was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization and has led President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency, Governor Charlie Baker to declare a state of emergency in Massachusetts and Town Manager Goodwin to declare a state of emergency in Dedham.
