Dedham Man Arrested Following Multi-Town Chase
A Dedham man faces charges after allegedly taking police on a chase from Mansfield to Dorchester.

MANSFIELD, MA — A Dedham man faces charges after allegedly taking police on a chase from Mansfield to Dorchester.
James L. Abbisso 3rd of Dedham faces charged of drugged driving (second offense), resisting arrest, and several motor vehicle violations. He will be charged by Mansfield and state police.
At about 6:50 a.m. Saturday, a vehicle fled a Mansfield neighborhood after police attempted to approach it. Officers followed the van but backed off once the van hit Interstate 93.

State police in Milton picked up the chase and located the vehicle on the Southeast Expressway around 7:44 a.m., a state police spokesman told the Sun Chronicle. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but Abbisso allegedly refused to stop. The van was spotted on the highway with a blown tire.
Abbisso was evaluated at Carney Hospital before he was taken into state police custody.
