
DEDHAM, MA — A Dedham man charged with killing his father has been indicted by a Norfolk County Grand Jury.
The jury handed down the indictment against Alexander Anderson, 26, Thursday, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office. He faces a charge of murder.
During the early hours of Oct. 25, Anderson allegedly entered the bedroom of his father Paul and stabbed him in the cheek; struck him several times in the face, at one point using a hammer and putting his knee on his father's neck; and threw him down the stairs, according to a police report. At the time of the alleged attack, Anderson was aggravated with his father.

Paul Anderson was transported to Norwood Hospital where he died.
At the time of the stabbing, the two lived in the same house.

During his arraignment in Dedham District Court, Anderson pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail.
The indictment moves the case across the street from Dedham District Court to Norfolk Superior Court. His arraignment is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Dec. 21.
