Dedham Man Injured In Rt. 1 Crash

Two other people were saved by a truck driver.

DEDHAM, MA — A truck driver put out a car fire and saved two people trapped inside, according to a Wrentham Fire official.

At about 2:20 p.m., a vehicle and a tow truck crashed on Route 1 in Wrentham. The two occupants of the car were saved by a truck driver, who used an extinguisher to put out the flames. Wrentham Fire Chief Jay McMorrow told the Sun Chronicle that if not for the truck driver, there was the potential for things to be worse.

The name of the driver was not released.

Both people in the car were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. The tow truck driver, a 27-year-old Dedham man, was transported to Norwood Hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
