Dedham Man Named William Shakespeare Ordered Held Without Bail
Police say Shakespeare murdered a man at a Mattapan barbershop.

DEDHAM, MA — Based on the reported reaction of the crowd in Suffolk Superior Court, the judge's decision to hold William Shakespeare without bail was a satisfying development in a real-life tragedy.
The 30-year-old Dedham man was arraigned Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Clerk Magistrate Edward Curley ordered Shakespeare held without bail. The decision brought cheers from a crowd that was vocal during the arrangement. He is accused of murdering 31-year-old Marcus Hall at a Mattapan barbershop

Police say Hall took a young relative to a barber shop on Blue Hill Avenue on June 14. Just past 12:20 p.m., Hall and a second man, identified as Shakespeare, were seen on surveillance camera arguing and walking out a back door int0 a parking lot. Moments later, the door opened again and Hall stood in the doorway. A brief struggle occurred and witnesses heard gunshots from the parking lot, prosecutors said. Witnesses found Hall lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the DA's office.

During the police investigation, Shakespeare was identified as the suspect and was located Jan. 31 in the Bronx. He is due back in court March 21.
