Dedham Middle School Recognizes Honor Roll Students …

Bright and early last Friday morning, before heading out on Winter Break, the Dedham Middle School held a pair of Honor Roll Recognition Ceremonies.

Vice Principal Dr. Margo Fraczek, stood at the podium and looked across the stage as the morning bell rang. The auditorium filled with students in grades 6 and 8, joining parents and teachers already on hand.

After greeting the crowd, Dr. Fraczek told “all of the students” just how proud she was of them. The Vice Principal explained, that as the school year progresses, the work and the work load become more difficult.

“In order to receive Honors (A`s and B`s) or High Honors (all A`s), students must learn to balance their responsibilities” she told them. A mother herself, Dr. Fraczek explained, that she knows “first- hand how life these days are filled with so many distractions.” “The students that made the Honor Roll – along with the students who really attempted to make it – all deserve credit, for their determination to succeed.”

A second assembly was held shortly thereafter, for the parents and students in grade 7. All in all, 115 students received High Honors and 224 students received Honors for this second semester. The 339 students – out of the school`s 653 total - that were recognized, came up only a few short of the record setting 335 that made the Honor Roll for the first term.

Both Dr. Fraczel and DMS Principal Debra Gately, believe that the praise an Honor Roll student receives, can be a powerful motivator for the other children in their class, and in the school. Congratulations to all of the hard-working students at the Dedham Middle School.
