The month of May is notoriously busy for everyone involved in our public schools. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the “art rooms” of the Dedham Middle School.
Each year (this is the 7th annual) the Middle School plays host to a grade Pre-K through 12, District-Wide Art Show. Throughout the school year, art teachers in all of our public schools, “collect” the works of students that catch their eye.
From crayon drawings to water colors, sketches to portraits, sculpture to photography, the teachers have amassed close to 1,000 pieces to be displayed in the school on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 6-8pm.

DMS Art teachers Arlene Tracey and Sarah Dempsey have the staggering task of preparing this vast collection of work for the public. The teachers have spent hours, sorting, cropping, mounting and preparing pieces that represent the collective works of over 2,000 Dedham students.
This is a “don`t miss”, one day only show that was best described as follows: “the halls of the Dedham Middle School are transformed in to galleries – it`s like going to a museum, except you know all of the artists…”
