Dedham Named Among Top Places South Of Boston To Live

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham has a lot to offer from the restaurants of Dedham Square to the shopping options at Legacy Place and Boston Magazine has begun to notice.

The magazine named Dedham as one of the best places to live south of Boston. Of the four towns profiled, Dedham was the only one not on the South Shore. Also featured were Quincy, Scituate, and Hull.

Jay Donahue, president of Donahue Real Estate Company, said the town has been overlooked for some time.

“It’s definitely had a little renaissance.” It started nearly a decade ago with the opening of the massive outdoor shopping destination Legacy Place, but these days the town has much more to offer than a mall. Dedham upped its cultural cred in 2013 with the launch of the Mother Brook Arts and Community Center, which hosts classes, exhibits, and studios for some two dozen artists on the former site of the Avery Elementary School," Donahue told Boston Magazine.

He also mentioned the coffee shops and restaurants of Dedham Square.
