Dedham Native Publishes First Novel
Dedham native Lorenzo Petruzziello says he's just a few weeks from releasing his debut novel, 'The Love Fool.'
From Quill Publishing: Writing a book isn’t something Dedham native Lorenzo Petruzziello ever imagined, but today, he’s just a few weeks from releasing his debut novel, The Love Fool.
“I was living in Rome working as a food and travel blogger and was so inspired by the incredible landscape and culture I found myself immersed in” says Petruzziello. “The cuisine, the wine, the people-everything is so beautiful and intense there. I was amazed at how the story just came to me.”
Set in Rome, The Love Fool follows the whirlwind antics of Alex, an American publicist who has recently moved to Italy for a new job opportunity. As he struggles to manage his first TV chef client and new life abroad, his world is rocked by an unexpected visit from his ex-girlfriend.

“The Love Fool is unique in that it’s told from the male’s perspective” explains Petruzziello. “It’s not chick-lit, it was purposely written to appeal to both genders. We’ve all had an unexpected encounter with an old flame-sometimes they are clumsy and awkward, and sometimes, in Alex’s case, it can change the course of your entire life.”
Petruzziello established a crowdfunding campaign to publish the book. Within three months, The Love Fool had surpassed its funding goal and reached Inkshares’s #1 Best Seller in Literary Fiction category. Today, over 1,000 readers on goodreads.com have requested copies.

He resides in his home state in Massachusetts focusing on his writing. The Love Fool is his first novel.
