Dedham Needs Workers For Upcoming Elections
You have to be a registered voter to work at one of Dedham's polling locations.
DEDHAM, MA — Election season is around the corner and Dedham is looking for worers to man the polls while residents cast their ballots. Applicants have to be registered Massachusetts voters to work at polling locations throughout the town in the upcoming 2020 elections:
- March 3
- April 11
- September 1
- November 3
Workers are paid by the hour and will be trained.
Election Worker Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to Dedham citizens
- Responsible for supervising and monitoring the work of the other election officers
- Prevent interference with the voting process
- Ensure that all required materials are available
- Assist voters, and oversee the accurate completion of all election forms
- Keeps a record of all facts relating to the election proceedings and notes any unusual happenings during the conduct of the election
- Check voters’ names at the Check-In and Check-Out tables
- Handing ballots to voters
- Process absentee ballots
Election Worker Requirements:
- Be registered to vote in Massachusetts and at least 18 years of age
- Be available to work Election Day in shifts ranging from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Have great customer service skills and efficiency
