Dedham Police: Customer Assaulted at Lowe's

Monday, Nov. 3
At 12:28 p.m. Dedham Police responded to a report of an assault at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Providence Highway. According to a police report, a female customer was waiting to be helped in the paint department when another customer came up behind her and slapped the woman near her left eye. The victim said the suspect walked away, but returned a short time later and began pulling the victim’s hair. The victim’s husband pulled the suspect away, and the suspect left the store with her parents. No one was able to see the license plate number, but surveillance camera footage shows the family left in a newer model green Toyota Camry.
At 5:09 p.m., officers responded to the area of Washington and Elm streets for a report of shoplifting from Legacy Place. Police located three males matching the description of the suspects. Each party had a backpack and police found clothing items in the backpacks with tags from Gap, H&M and Urban Outfitters. A fourth party, a female, was also located by police. The managers of the stores elected not to press charges as they did not witness the shoplifting.

At 8:46 p.m., Dedham Police went to Toys R Us on Providence Highway to investigate reported credit card fraud. According to police reports, a 20-something light skinned black or Hispanic man attempted to purchase a video game console and game using a credit card. When the cashier asked for ID, the man presented the ID of a 60-year-old Caucasian man and told the cashier it was his stepfather. He then left the store without the items. Police returned the credit cards and ID to their rightful owner who said he had just noticed them missing that day but did not know when they were lost.

At 6:26 a.m., officers located and arrested Adrian Aziza, 26, on a probation violation warrant.
At 9:12 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Washington and Curve streets involving a car and an ambulance carrying two passengers. The ambulance driver said the sirens and lights were active at the time of the crash, but the driver of the other vehicle said he did not hear any sirens.
At 9:30 a.m., Dedham Police responded to a report of shoplifting from Ocean State Job Lot. According to a police report, the store manager said a woman concealed a Snuggie and left the store without paying for it. No suspects were located in the area.
