Dedham Police: Daughter's Tinder Date Concerns Mom

Thursday, Nov. 6
At 4:26 p.m., Dedham Police investigated credit card fraud at Best Buy on Providence Highway. According to a police report, a woman was attempting to exchange an Android tablet that was purchased with a stolen credit card in mid-October. The suspect had a receipt for the item and told police it was a gift, though the suspect would not tell police who it was from nor could she identify the person named on the credit card or receipt. The suspect was transported to the police station and summonsed to court.
At 5:32 p.m., police responded to a report of motor vehicle breaking and entering at Legacy Place.

At 9:40 p.m., police spoke with a mother who was worried about her 20-something daughter going on a date with a man she met on the Tinder dating site. The officer explained that there had been no sign of trouble and the girl’s friends did not appear concerned. The officer encouraged the mother to call police if there were any developments indicating the her daughter was in danger.
Saturday, Nov. 8
At 2:45 p.m., an officer working a detail at the Dedham Mall was watching security video at Sears when he observed a white male cut open a package with one knife and conceal another knife he took from the package in his jacket sleeve. The man, identified as Richard Gravinese, then left the store and was stopped by the officer. The officer retrieved the $45 knife and learned that Gravinese had two warrants outstanding for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the station.
