Dedham Police Investigate Overnight Shooting

Officers found an empty car with bullet holes in it on Sprague Street.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham police are investigating a shooting that happened on Monday night on Sprague street. Calls about a shooting came in at 11:43 p.m. but when police arrived at the scene they found an empty car with bullet holes in it.

Police said there were tire marks in the rad leading up to the damaged car. The car, a Honda Accord, was searched by police and a K9 officer but came up with no evidence, according to police.

Officers followed up with a tip about a second car involved in the incident and traced the car back to Boston. The car had similar damage and bullet holes as the Honda found in Dedham.

No injuries have been reported and police are still looking for the suspects involved in the incident. Police said they believe it was an isolated incident and does not represent a threat to the community.
