Dedham Police Log: Man Unsure How He Ended Up in Town, Drunk on the Side of the Road, and More

December 28

10:41 p.m. - Police responded to a report of a home that was egged. The homeowner said he might have an idea who is responsible and agreed to work it out on his own

12:10 p.m. - A store at Legacy Place reported a man who starting knocking over items in the store after being denied use of possibly fraudulent gift cards. An employee said the suspect had previously shoplifted at the store.

5:30 p.m. - Police received a report of a disturbance at a Route 1 restaurant. The manager told police that the person went inside to use the bathroom. After causing a disturbance in the bathroom and being told to leave, the person banged on the lobby windows before leaving. At about 5:45 p.m., a person matching a description of the person at the restaurant was found on the side of Route 1 near the Dedham/Westwood line. After determining that the person was drunk, he was taken into custody by Westwood police.


January 1

5:19 a.m. - Police responded to a report of a suspicious person knocking on a front door. The person told police that he took the train to Boston with his friends and had no idea where he was or how he got there, noting that he must have blacked out. The person was transported to the Forest Hills train station so he could take the train home.
