Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting, Bike vs. Truck, and More

January 31

7:32 p.m. - Police responded to a shoplifting incident at Legacy Place. The store told police that a man and women entered with an empty bag and left with a bag full of stolen items.

1:26 p.m. - A walk-in at the police station told police that he was struck by a pickup struck while riding his bike on East Street in September. While the driver gave him his information the biker said he has been unable to contact the driver. Police called the driver, who said it was the first time someone contacted him about the incident. Information was exchanged for an insurance exchange.

February 3

1:45 a.m. - During a traffic stop on Washington Street, Ryan Palma-Kelly, 28, was arrested on a warrant and charged with failure to stop at a red light.

February 4

1:52 p.m. - A walk-in at the police station told police that someone stole his boat.

February 6

11:15 p.m. - Police noticed a large group that gathered outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods on Route 1. The store manager told police that he was told to remain open until the store’s inventory of Patriots’ apparel was depleted, which was estimated to tale place between 2-3 a.m. The store closed at 1:50 a.m. and the store was cited for violating the town’s hour restriction by-law. It was the store’s third, previously getting citations for violations on Black Friday in 2015 and 2015.
