Dedham School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Early Release Days

DEDHAM, MA — The first day of school in Dedham is Sept. 6 for grades 1-12 and Sept. 7 for kindergarten, and preschool. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites.

The 2017-18 school calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• Nov. 23-24: Thanksgiving Break
• Dec. 7: Early Release Day/Teacher Professional Development
• Dec. 22: Early Release Day
• Dec. 25-Jan. 1: Winter Break
• Jan. 12: Early Release Day/Teacher Professional Development
• Jan. 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School
• Feb. 19-23: February Break
• March 20: Early Release Day/Teacher Professional Development
• March 30: Good Friday - No School
• April 16-20: April Break
• May 28: Memorial Day - No School
• June 18: Last day of school if there are no snow days
• June 24: Last day of school with five snow days
