Dedham Square's El Centro Counting Down To Opening

DEDHAM, MA — The newest restaurant in town now has the go-ahead from the selectmen.

The board voted last week to issue a liquor license to El Centro, to be located at 338 Washington St. in Dedham Square. The building was formerly known as 350 Washington St. and is part of a new mixed-use development that was once home to other full service restaurants.

El Centro has three other locations in the South End, Brookline, and Dedham. Those locations have won awards from Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston, the Improper Bostonian, and the Phantom Gourmet,

Capacity for the family style restaurant is around 100 seats, with 18 seasonal outdoor seats.

The owners told the board that they hope to open within two to three months. When they do, Al Centro will have lunch hours of 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and dinner hours of 5-10 p.m. with an 11 p.m. closing time on Fridays and Saturdays.
