Dedham Summer Shack Closes Its Doors

The closure of the Dedham locations leaves just three Summer Shack locations left.

A beloved local seafood chain has closed its Dedham location.

Summer Shack’s Dedham location closed its doors as of Dec. 26, a tipster told Eater Boston. Summer Shack removed the location from its website and the move was confirmed by an employee at Summer Shack’s Cambridge location.

Born in 2000, Summer Shack is the brainchild of restauranteur and New Jersey native Jasper White. The Dedham closure leaves three locations remaining, including Boston, Cambridge and one located at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. The restaurant’s goal is to bring high-quality New England seafood to high-traffic retail locations.

The restaurant is known for its various lobster and clam soups and chowders, steamed “lobsters in the rough,” and fisherman’s stew, according to the Eater Boston report. The Dedham restaurant will formerly be located at 850 Providence Highway and was opened in 2011.
