Dedham Teen Charged in Mattapan Armed Robbery

Three people, including a Dedham teen, face charges in connection to an armed robbery in Mattapan.

MATTAPAN, MA — Three people, including a Dedham teen, face charges in connection to an armed robbery in Mattapan.

Diamodez Pierre, 18, Hyde Park, a 17-year old-juvenile man from Dedham and a 17-year-old juvenile man from Mattapan, were all arrested by the Boston Police Department Wednesday night. All three were charged with armed robbery and the 17-year-old from Mattapan was additionally charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the Boston Police Department.

Wednesday evening, police in Boston received a report of an armed robbery on Cummings Highway in Mattapan. Police say the three suspects approached a man at gunpoint before fleeing the area of foot. The officers located the three suspects a short time later on River Street, with the Mattapan 17-year-old allegedly fleeting.

Responding officers were able to catch up to the suspect after a brief foot pursuit, which was followed by an allegedly violent struggle ensued. Police say the teen attempted to reach inside his jacket, with one officer feeling that a weapon was in the jacket. After police were able to control the suspect, a .55 caliber Pietro Beretta handgun was recovered from inside his jacket.

The other two suspects were arrested without incident.

The victim's property was recovered.

All three suspects were scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
