Here we are only 6 months into the first year of a new decade, and volunteers, elected officials, and town staff are already hard at work on Dedham’s Master Plan for 2030. A master plan is a community's general "blueprint" for its future, guiding bylaw changes, open space and building policies, budgeting decisions and covering topics on the economy, public health, housing, transportation, community facilities, and land use.

The most important part of developing a comprehensive master plan is having significant input from people living in the community including homeowners, renters, and business owners. That’s why Designing Dedham 2030 will include a robust community engagement process with many chances for Dedham community members to get involved through public meetings and forums, online engagement, pop-ups at public events, and more. A robust public process will ensure that the final plan reflects the needs and values of all our community.

The first online survey garnered over 1,100 responses which was a record for Dedham. The data from the initial survey has been incredibly helpful as the committee works on an overarching community vision for the plan. Now, we ask that you invest a small amount of time to help the committee get even more detailed feedback from the Dedham community. The survey takes just 15 or so minutes to complete and gives you a chance to have your concerns and opinions heard. Do you want to have a say in the future of Dedham? Your opportunity to complete this second survey closes June 30th, so please visit the Designing Dedham website today to complete the survey: www.designingdedham2030.org.
