DEDHAM, MA — Work on the new Early Childhood Education Center is now underway.

On Oct. 23, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the former Dexter Elementary School. The timeline has construction taking 14 months, according to Superintendent Michael Welch's October update.

When the building opens, it will be home to preschool and kindergarten. The $29.8 million project comes with an $11 million reimbursement from the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
