Ex-Dedham Middle School Principal to Return in New Role

Dedham, MA — Former Dedham Middle School principal Debra Gately will remain in the school district in a new role.

Superintendent Michael Welch announced in a letter to parents that Gatley will now serve as the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, according to the Dedham Transcript.

Gatley has been on leave since she was charged in Aprilwith drunken driving. She was arrested in Weston after a caller reported a car that was driving all over the road and nearly crashed four times, according to a police report.

She later admitted that there were sufficient facts that she was driving drunk. Her case was continued without a finding for one year. If she stays out of trouble, the charge will be removed from her record.
