NORWOOD, MA — The family of a Dedham woman who was killed crossing the street in Norwood is now in mourning.

Friday morning, 55-year-old Cheryl Ann McCarthy was fatally struck by a construction vehicle near the near the Central Street MBTA station. The vehicle was being used for the nearby Guild Street bridge project.

Pat McCarthy, the victim's mother, told WHDH that she will never get over the death of her mother. Cheryl Ann's family is now trying to learn what caused her death.

The name of the driver of the construction vehicle has not been released.

The incident is under investigation.
