Fitness for the Fight classes raise money for American Cancer Society
Orangetheory Fitness Dedham offered unique exercise classes in recent fundraisier

Orangetheory Fitness studios in Massachusetts recently made a $5,360 donation to The American Cancer Society, money raised from Fitness for the Fight fundraiser events held at their locations.
With Fitness for the Fight, unique exercise classes were held May 22 at Orangetheory Fitness locations in Dedham, Brighton and Burlington. More than 50 people raised money through class registration fees, personal and team donations and raffles.
“By supporting the American Cancer Society, we are directly helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against this terrible disease,” said Sarah Bishins, franchise owner, Orangetheory Fitness Brighton. “Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. So many members of the Orangetheory Fitness community have been personally affected by cancer, and this event is our way of remembering the lives lost to cancer and honoring cancer survivors.”

Last year, the Orangetheory Fitness Brighton location raised $2,220 for the Society with a Fitness for the Fight event. Bishins, Paul Faucher, franchise owner, Orangetheory Fitness Burlington, and Kerri Bliss, franchise owner, Orangetheory Fitness Dedham, say they plan to host Fitness for the Fight again next year, to bring on additional studios and to increase their fundraising total.
“We absolutely enjoy working with Orangetheory Fitness and plan to make the event bigger and better each year,” said Katy DiMare, senior manager, community events, American Cancer Society. “Hosting a Fitness for the Fight event shows everyone you are serious about fighting back against cancer and supporting the life-saving mission of the American Cancer Society. You choose the format, date and time that works best for your facility.”

About The American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of 2.5 million volunteers saving lives and fighting for those who are threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society's efforts have contributed to a 22 percent decline in cancer death rates in the US during the past two decades, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks in part to our progress, nearly 14.5 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be able to celebrate life this year. We're determined to finish the fight against cancer. As the nation's largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, we're finding cures and ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more.
