Former Husband Of NH Stabbing Victim Arraigned On Stabbing Charge

Investigators said the man is also considered a key figure in his wife's unsolved murder 10 years ago, Fox 25 News reported.

DEDHAM, MA — The former husband of a New Hampshire woman who was stabbed to death was arraigned in Norfolk County Superior Court on Wednesday in connection to the stabbing last summer of a Millis man.

Edward Burns, 56, of Millis, was arrested on July 18, after police said he attacked a man with a knife last summer. He pleaded not guilty at Wednesday's arraignment.

Investigators said Burns is also considered a key figure in his wife's murder, Boston 25 News reported.

Police reports indicated Burns stabbed a Millis man in the back with a 10-inch kitchen knife, while the two men were having an argument at Burns' home. The man was hospitalized, but survived the attack, MetroWest Daily News reported.

This comes 10 years after Burns's wife Stacey was killed on Mother's Day 2009 in her Wolfeboro, New Hampshire home. That murder remains unsolved.

Police never called Burns a suspect in the murder, but told Boston 25 News they considered him a key person of interest, following the couple's ugly divorce that included Stacey getting a restraining order against Burns.
